The series ‘White Noise’ abstractly expresses the adverse events experienced throughout the past year, drawing the viewer in, with many having experienced a year like no other.
The series uses David Austin Roses and Dahlias, arranged in a disordered way to represent the chaos and change with the outcome following the adversity, the light at the end of the tunnel. The layering of paint over the flowers, represents the emotion, cloaking the distraction and noise, representing the positives and calm, rising to the surface amongst the chaos. With the luminous colours expressing the positive conclusion. Referencing some of my past work, paint is used to convey feeling and represent emotion.
