Capturing Moomba festival as reflected on the surface of the Yarra River using Melbourne Skyline as a backdrop as an impressionist image has been a challenge. The river is always busy during the festival with water skiers performing their skills, making the surface in a chaotic state and impossible for any subject reflected impossible to recognise. Waiting for the image to form recognisable shapes on the surface requires long-suffering patient. However, it pays off with this image.
This image is printed on Yucatan handmade paper which will enhance the viewing experience by its texture. As it is handmade, each print is unique on its own. The deckle edge further increases the piece to look like a painting.
