Australia bushland is stunning and beautiful. I always wanted to capture the impression of the sunburned land with the trees. While working on the Impressionist Melbourne project and failed to capture the images for Studley Boathouse, I went for a walk along the Yarra river to find inspiration. And this image subtlely appeared to me. The water movement on the surface of the river was just right, combining the angle of the sunlight and shadows; this image came to live.

Artist Bio
I love a good story. Every good story is an adventure. It has a narrative that paints a picture where only your imagination can take you. A good story sparks emotion, and that emotion helps you to interpret the picture. A few years ago, I took a trip to look at galleries in Italy, which resulted in an interest in art, especially Impressionism. The paintings I viewed were not as sharp as a photograph but beautiful in their own right. Seeing these impressionist paintings sparked the idea of taking pictures reflected on the surface of the river Melaka, during my last visit to Melaka, Malaysia in 2016. Many times we may interpret episodes in our lives just like we are looking at the distorted images reflected on the surface of the water. These pictures may not be the actual story as the surrounding environments changed them: like a passing boat that greatly disturbed the water or a gentle breeze that creates the ripples. If only we can see the past and not the distractions, then we can find true peace. Or we wait for the water to settle when everything is calm again, but all this takes time. Like a good story, I am currently experimenting with a style of photography that gives the photo an impression that it is a painting. With this style of impressionistic photography, I am looking to produce more work in the future at different locations around the world to 'Tell a story, one picture at a time'.
