Artwork Description

PHASE COMPLETE

(Frame on request) - Note: This Artwork does not come with a frame. $220 for fully framed, ready to hang Artwork. Message prior to order for this inclusion. It will be added to listed price.

This piece is dedicated to the completion of events or processes in ones life. It's that full-stop moment where we put that period behind us and move on. PHASE COMPLETE

This piece is mostly Acrylic paint on thin plywood. Very light. It has a very minor amount of white concrete.

A bit about my art and me...

I'm predominantly a Concrete Medium artist. One of a handful in the world. I love creating art with this unique medium.

Concrete is such a strong, brutal, yet stunning medium to work with. It creates texture and mood, giving either a raw grey architectural look and feel or alternatively a rich marshmallow look when mixed with acrylic colours, pigments or inks. It's Art with loads of texture that begs to be touched.

My foundation is not in art at all, it's in Finance and Economics. My artistic side was confined to creating music for 15 years. Art, therefore, is a pleasant separation from finance.

Concrete... I'm constantly exploring this unique medium, its an emerging process, an obsession perhaps.

Concretes the most commonly used material in the world. We're surrounded by it with pavements, high rise buildings, bridges...and now it's wall art. Is there nothing concrete cannot do!?

Creating from my home studio in Brisbane, (mostly in the very late hours of the evening) My process involves applying multiple layers of concrete with brushes, trowels, sticks or my hands. Mixing concrete with inks, pigments or acrylics to create the right colour and textures. Once each piece has dried, only then is the true colour and depth realised.

Concrete is unique and challenging to create with. It gives a very limited window of work ability, around 2 minutes at most. Its messy process too. Concrete oxides, acrylic Ink, paints and pigment powders are used for colourisation of the concrete or occasionally on top.

All pieces are fully sealed, so touching is encouraged.
These artworks are light weight 3-8kg. And best of all it sustainable, slow art.

Custom pieces are available upon request.
