Artwork Description

A dystopian landscapeā€š dominated by two huge machinesā€š based on the 'Bagger 228'ā€š a gigantic excavator used in mining. These enormous vehicles loom above a locomotive and tiny figuresā€š workers in a bleak landscape.

This painting is in no way meant to be ideologicalā€š for or against mining and industry. I was impressed by these machines simply for their size and structureā€š and have created a scene around them. The feel of the painting is slightly 'steampunk' or sci-fi.

The painting is executed in sepia tones.
