Artwork Description

Geoffrey Rush has the face of a seasoned storyteller. His features are deeply etched with expression, as though every smile, frown, and moment of contemplation has left a gentle mark. His intelligent, watchful eyes seem to hold both mischief and wisdom, while his expressive eyebrows and subtle smile suggest a man forever on the verge of sharing a fascinating tale. His silver hair and neatly kept beard frame his face with quiet dignity, lending him the appearance of a scholar, artist, or philosopher. Rather than conventional beauty, his portrait is defined by character, depth, and humanity---every line contributing to the sense of a life richly lived.

Artist Bio

I am an artist originally from Alice Springs NT who also lived in Geraldton WA and then Tasmania. Now I am based on Queenslands Sunshine Coast. I completed my Bachelor of Contemporary Arts in 2002 followed this with a Bachelor of Teaching.
I have held Exhibitions at the Train Yards Art Centre in Launceston Tasmania, The Groovy Penguin Cafe in Tasmania. I exhibited work in Honolulu Hawaii. I have also had works displayed in Galleries in Ottawa Canada and sold works for commission and by consignment.
I consider my style figurative and expressionist. I like to include inner meanings, metaphors, stories and symbolism in my paintings. The mediums I use to create mixed media paintings include acrylic, encaustic and oil. I prefer to paint on stretched canvas.
My paintings are partly planned and often improvised along the way.

Enjoy.
