Artwork Description

This artwork is inspired by the yaching life, about the club, families walking down the jetting checking the catch of the fisherman there. It is about fish leaping, the sun bright and warm and that Queensland blueness. The water reflecting. The waiter placing those cold beers on the table not far away from your battered barrumundi and chips.....

Artist Bio

I am an artist originally from Alice Springs NT who also lived in Geraldton WA and then Tasmania. Now I am based on Queenslands Sunshine Coast. I completed my Bachelor of Contemporary Arts in 2002 followed this with a Bachelor of Teaching.
I have held Exhibitions at the Train Yards Art Centre in Launceston Tasmania, The Groovy Penguin Cafe in Tasmania. I exhibited work in Honolulu Hawaii. I have also had works displayed in Galleries in Ottawa Canada and sold works for commission and by consignment.
I consider my style figurative and expressionist. I like to include inner meanings, metaphors, stories and symbolism in my paintings. The mediums I use to create mixed media paintings include acrylic, encaustic and oil. I prefer to paint on stretched canvas.
My paintings are partly planned and often improvised along the way.

Enjoy.
