End of day at Binalong Bay

This painting was my Covid project….I spent many hours working on this detailed painting from a photograph I took of a beautiful mid-winter sunset in 2019 looking back across Binalong Bay on the Bay of Fires on the East Coast of Tasmania. The colours were amazing and the reflections from the rocks and vegetation on the glassy waters created a magnificent scene. I am very happy with how I captured the colours and serenity of this moment.

I’m a self taught artist working in oils for the last 40 years. My style is realism and I love attention to detail.
Australian landscapes are my specialty and my works vary from outback & rural scenes to seascapes & beachscapes to buildings and urban landscapes.
I’m currently a member of the Mentone Mordialloc Art Group and regularly exhibit in their exhibitions, winning the Oil Award and People’s Choice Award in 2018 for an urban landscape featuring the Middle Park bluestone laneway where I grew up.
