Inspired by the captivating yet ethereal portraits of 1800's masters like Sargent and Bougereau, "Quiet Defiance" started as a humble study of the human face and bust. Her gaze is enigmatic and slightly rebellious, drawing any viewer in to study her closer.

Welcome! I am a Sydney based symbolist artist specialising in oil and watercolour painting. My work is often autobiographical, and my process is informed by my background education in art therapy and influenced by the Symbolist art movement of the late 1800's (I find that this style fits perfectly with the visual language I naturally gravitate towards). I am fascinated by psychology (especially recent breakthroughs in the field of trauma and holistic mental health), archetypes, religion and spirituality.
