Top Down Fury

With its bold lines and open top, the car represents more than speed; it speaks to a time when design and emotion were inseparable. I have always loved the distinctive door design in this Ferrari!!

I was drawn to the Testarossa not just as a machine, but as a cultural icon. It's a blend of precision and passion. In painting it, I wanted to capture the feeling of motion even at rest and wanted to capture a section of the car which really shows off its amazing lines.

This work is a tribute to timeless design, to moments of escape, and to the enduring allure of automotive beauty.

I started out with a pencil in hand, drawing portraits and learning to capture emotion through subtle lines and shadows. Over time, I found myself wanting more depth, colour, and freedom and that led me to oil painting.

These days, I love working with oil because of how it lets me explore contrast, light, and mood in a way pencil never could. My subjects are always changing. I’m drawn to anything with character, whether it’s a person, an old car, an animal, or even a building.

For me, painting is about looking more closely and finding something interesting in the everyday and bringing it to life with colour and light.
