My name is Bianca Harrington and I’m a multi-disciplinary maker and artist
My creative breadth spans painting, textile printing, collage, sewing, and accessory design.
I moved to London in my 20’s, where I studied and worked in textiles, prior to painting.
Now merging scissors with paintbrush, I work mostly in mixed media collage.
My immediate surroundings will be absorbed (quilts, documentaries, conversations, gardening etc.) turning them into background motifs, marks and symbols in my work.
Recurring themes in my work portray simplified tablescapes and botanicals with threads of folk symbolism and celestial impressions.
Small marks and imperfect shapes, aesthetic gestures of the lived experience.
My lifetime of dedication to creative disciplines contribute to the narrative of my work, producing my own distinctive and ever-experimental articulation of contemporary art and design.
