Bluethumb finalists in Creative³ Pitch competition

We are excited to announce we are finalists in QUT Creative Enterprise Australia’s (CEA) Creative³ Pitch. Part of Creative³, Australia’s largest conference for creative entrepreneurs, the four finalists will pitch to early-stage investors at the Creative³ event in September.

Now in its 6th year, Creative³ is the only event of its kind in Australia, featuring a series of dynamic presentations from the world’s leading creative game changers and entrepreneurs offering real world insights into the mechanics of creativity, investment and enterprise.

The prestigious winner of the Creative3 Pitch will go on to represent Australia and compete against 63 countries at the world championships for creative entrepreneurs, the Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark later this year. Here they will pitch to some of the biggest venture capitalists in Europe during Global Entrepreneurship Week and compete for a prize pool of over USD $35,000. All four Creative3 Pitch finalists have the opportunity to qualify for the Creative Business Cup where an international jury will choose the winners based on criteria of creativity and market potential.

Bluethumb Directors Philip Slusarski and Edward Hartley pitched last Wednesday and are thrilled about getting through. “It is a great honour to be shortlisted and we’re really looking forward to the finals, not just to present but to meet the organisers, see what knowledge they have to impart and how they view Bluethumb,” says Hartley. “Internally we are so focused on our own vision for Bluethumb and building the best team and technology, that the opportunity to get external feedback from mentors and recalibrate is really refreshing.”

Previous Creative3 Pitch finalists include Handkrafted, TrademarkVision and Project Tripod – all of which have seen great success after the Creative3 Pitch.

“For the past two years, the CEA Startup Fund has gone on to invest in one of the finalist companies, so this is potentially a life-changing opportunity for the finalists,” says Creative Enterprise CEO Anna Rooke. “As Australian hosts for the Creative Business Cup, we’re excited to be able to offer our Creative3 Pitch winners a unique opportunity to represent Australia internationally as our best emerging creative entrepreneurs.”
