About

When I was young, I used drawing pencils and watercolour in creating art. In 2010, I attended a workshop to learn how to use acrylic paints. I have since done many paintings using acrylics as well as oil paints, oil crayons, polyurethane with colour added, charcoal and on occasions, I have used collage in my artworks.

My main interest in art is capturing outdoor images with influence from the style by artists from the Heidelberg School in the early 1900s. I have also enjoyed the painting challenges of portraits, fish, wildlife, abstract and still life. I have expanded my art ability by using capable tutors and attending various workshops.

As an artist, I gain inspiration from things and places that I see in my everyday life. I enjoy creating art for myself and others, mostly in my semi outdoor art studio overlooking the Broadwater on the Gold Coast.

In 2014, I joined Royal Queensland Art Society, Gold Coast branch and have participated in its art classes and regularly display selected works in its exhibition and sale Gallery at Broadbeach. I have received some awards from independent judges and have sold a number of my works displayed.

I have successfully held a number of my own exhibitions at venues in Brisbane where I have displayed examples of the wide variety of my interests in creating art. I currently have an art exhibition at Verve Cafe in the Metro Arts Building in Edward Street Brisbane.
