A cloudy, windy day at Toowoon Bay in mid summer, rain threatening and the wind strangely chill. As the clouds race forward you catch glimpses of a blue summer sky above the grey screen.

I studied formally in painting but found i was drawn into a wider world of landscape, installations and sound sculpture. Seeing the first Papunya paintings gave me a new view of what art does and its significance. A journey to Europe overwhelmed me with the magnitude of western art and a major Paris survey show of the highlights of Japanese art where i returned for days studying the screens. After completing post graduate studies in landscape architecture I have followed a dual career of landscape and art and my work is built on direct observation that can develop into metaphor or whimsy. Working outside with found implements in ink and dry media provides the images and energy that carries into the studio paintings and sculpture.
