Artwork Description

This piece was nearly abandoned; I had no vision in mind for what I was going to paint.

no sketch, no under drawing, all I knew i had to do was throw paint at the canvas and ask questions later.

This vague form started to appear but I wasn't connecting with it yet, nothing was pulling me in, right before i painted over the whole thing to start from scratch I smeared her face that was originally looking the other way then this face appeared and then all of a sudden this women had a whole life on her face, and i wanted to know evrything about her so i kept going and this is where we got.

I picture this woman dancing in a lover's bedroom, fueled by a French red, sombre but free.
I dont know something like that

Artist Bio

Brandon is a Byron Bay–based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, photography, cinema, and design. His work explores the archetypal forces that shape human experience, particularly the energies of masculinity, strength, and honour, and seeks to uncover what lies beneath the surface of identity. Through layered textures, symbolic forms, and evocative imagery, Brandon invites viewers to strip away societal veneers and reconnect with who they truly are at their core.

For more than a decade, Brandon has honed his craft across the intersecting worlds of graphic design, brand storytelling, and fine art, producing works and experiences that blur the boundaries between disciplines. His early career in print publishing, guerrilla marketing, and creative direction sharpened his ability to create immersive dialogues between art and audience. This experience now fuels his fine art practice, where his focus has shifted from branding products to revealing the essence of the human spirit.

At the heart of Brandon's philosophy is the understanding that art is not ownership, it is reflection. He describes himself as a conduit, allowing forms, ideas, and archetypal truths to move through him into the work. The resonance his pieces evoke arises not from him, but from what already exists within the viewer.
