I spent my entire career as a novelist and now after an emotional loss I found myself back at my childhood passion - painting.
I don’t have formal training in art, but did get into art school in my youth and decided to pursue writing instead. So these days painting is a strong act of creative intuition.
Currently, I find myself creating cityscapes of surrealist, fantastical places. Landscapes that are mysterious and mystical. And portraits that are quirky displays of character or absurdist figures.
It brings moments of joy when capturing an essence on canvas, something that speaks to me.
Art really has acted like a conduit for my emotions while enduring a great loss - I find comfort in these worlds I create, and perhaps you will too.
I live, write and paint in the leafy Mosman and I am an exhibiting member of Mosman Art Society and of Lane Cove Art Society.
