Artwork Description

Having recently traveled to Antarctica glimpses of the Antarctic stations through the fog and mists highlighted the harsh conditions the first scientists who came to study the amazing place faced for months.

Artist Bio

Mick is a self-taught visual artist from Bargara, Queensland.
Mick has spontaneity and a freshness which comes from 20 years of painting and creating artworks across many media. Mick has developed a look with splashes of colour and texture that help the viewer explore the works.

He primarily uses painting and drawing styles over complex substrates of cardboard and found objects to develop a sense of place. He has exhibited is local galleries in the Bundaberg Region and on the Sunshine Coast.
He is traveler, and his landscapes, bird images and seascapes are a mix of traditional and abstract styles as the mood takes him, to represent the Australian outback, regions and coastal shores in oils, acrylic, graphite, water colours and mixed media.
