Artwork Description

Mixed Media on wood, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Seldom kissed by the pale sun, a dark island is swept by wind and wave. This is a dazzly and tactile abstract landscape inspired by some small watercolour experiments.

About the surface and panel: Works on panel are more durable and long lasting than works on canvas β€” many made in the Middle Ages and Renaissance are still admired today. This is a hand-crafted panel made of cradled (braced) plywood, and sealed on all sides with acrylic varnish. English Saunders 100% cotton watercolour paper is mounted to the panel using acrylic gel to provide an archival surface protected from the wood. The watercolour paper provides a unique texture.
