Acrylic on wood, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
There are opportunities to flourish even after what seems a disaster. The forest drowns but creatures arise renewed.
This large textural acrylic abstract painting combines wet-in-wet with transparent and semi-transparent impasto. It’s finished with gloss varnish, and responds beautifully under natural or artificial light.
As with all my paintings, I aim to provide visual stimulation for both close up and distant viewing, so you’ll never tire of it because there is always something new to discover. The painting continues round the edges and is ready to hang, so framing is optional.
About the surface and panel: Works on panel are more durable and long lasting than on canvas. This hand-crafted, double-braced panel made of Tasmanian-hardwood and marine-grade plywood is sealed on all surfaces with multiple coats of acrylic varnish. Italian Fabriano 100% cotton watercolour paper is mounted with acrylic gel to provide an archival surface protected from the wood. Watercolour paper on panel provides a unique subtle texture and the resilient surface is perfect for aggressive painting techniques that might damage canvas.
