Artwork Description

Artist Bio

Born in Portland Victoria‚ Brett Jarrett (60) is one of the top four artists in Australia specializing in bird art.

He has spent 34 years understanding both birds and art on a world class level, a combination that very few artists in Australia have achieved.
Brett's work has been collected internationally all of his career and has been the most successful artists to exhibit at the Holmes Art Prize for realism in Australian bird art with 2 x Best in Show; 2 x People's Choice Award and 1 x Award for Excellence.
His work has been accepted as a Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists and 'Birds in Art', the latter acquiring his work for the Leigh Yawkey-Woodson Art Museum (Wisconsin, U.S.A.).

He has worked as an artist‚ guide and field biologist in the polar regions for many years‚ becoming the most travelled and experienced of Australia’s modern day wildlife painters.
Brett's work is not commercial in nature: does not follow a business formula; is not mass produced nor deliberately staged with meaningless detail or airbrushed backgrounds; gaudy, confusing colour mixes. His paintings are expertly crafted with knowledge and a very high level of skill.
