Artwork Description

Taken from Point Lonsdale jetty in Victoria, this image looks straight down through the crystal-clear water of the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. The light dancing on the rippled surface intensified the underwater colours and created a calm space for me during a personally turbulent time.

Point Lonsdale, Victoria.

This limited edition photographic artwork is hand signed and numbered on the front and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

This photographic artwork is also stunning as a frameless Acrylic Facemount print where the image appears to just float on the wall. Contact me for details and pricing.

Artist Bio

Brian Ellwood is an award-winning photographer who was raised on the land in rural New South Wales before spending much of his adult life in the big cities of eastern Australia. Throughout a long career in technical event production and arts management, Brian honed his visual skills designing and delivering the production technology for an extensive range of corporate and cultural events and exhibitions.

Brian loves to travel far and wide, camera in hand, seeking out and capturing moments of peace, beauty and pause in both the built and natural world.

The way light can transform any location into something truly stunning—often just for a moment—is magical. Brian finds enormous peace when standing alone in a naturally beautiful place. It’s that sense of space, of endless time, of serenity, of taking a deep, calming breath and simply being, that he tries to replicate in his landscapes.

With wildlife images, Brian pursues the incredible experience of the connection he so often feels with his subjects: from the power and timeless wisdom in the eyes of an elephant, to the captivating stare of a praying mantis or a cicada, to the joy and fascination of the riotous colour and equally boisterous antics of Australia’s birdlife.

Brian's work invites you to take a moment as you contemplate his work, to slip out of the hustle and bustle of life and lose yourself in the beauty of the natural world.
