This is part of a series on the flooded gums of Bongil Bongil National Park. I was struck by the way the middle tree divided the painting in two, and the horizon line effectively further divided the canvas into quarters. Each quarter in effect became its own smaller painting, the reflected sections below becoming more abstract versions of the scenes above. The finished painting polarises people, but I like it!
