'Women of the Waves: Alora' - This beauty is inspired by my love for the ocean - The complete serenity yet excitement you feel when you leave land and gather your sea legs. This mini is a colourful artwork with a sense of energy and fun - the colours absolutely bounce off the canvas and she’d look lovely as part of a gallery wall or off centre above a bed. This is the 3/5 of the minis I've created around women of the waves giving each woman their own personality and name, she is called 'Alora,’she is a shining star always brightening up the ocean!

Hi, I'm Bridie Rivers and I am an artist living in the sunny Central Coast in NSW. I have grown up surfing and being around the ocean so naturally it’s one of my favourite things to paint and in the last couple of months I’ve really been trying to capture the beauty of my mundane even though it’s so magical! I truly believe someone’s ‘boring’ or ‘mundane’ makes for a great painting because they know it so well. I try to paint things that I’m familiar with, things that I love like the ocean or the surf because it makes me feel somewhat closer to the experience, giving myself a chance to be the observer of my world.
