Brien Howard's watercolour paintings are representational and based on his experience walking countryside pathways in England, Scotland, Wales, The Channel Islands, Ireland, France, Austria and Switzerland. He sketches with a small watercolour set in the landscape, capturing the light and ambience, and develops larger, more resolved paintings in his studio . Brien sometimes includes significant historical sites in his compositions. His unique eye for landscape and his finely tuned techniques are much admired amongst his contemporaries,.
