Artist Bio

I am a graphic designer / artist. As an artist, I work mainly in acrylics on canvas and watercolours. My main areas of interest are beach scenes, nature and people. I love using lots of colour so my paintings would be described as bright, colourful and bold. I also dabble in printmaking and portraits. Although my acrylic paintings are more stylised, my portraits are very realistic. I first paint on fabric with gouache or acrylics and then I use a mixture of embroidery, appliqué and beading over the painting. I love trying out new mediums so I never stop at just the mediums above.

My passion for art has always been a part of my life. I majored in textiles at school and received an award of excellence before continuing onto further studies after I left school where I majored in illustration whilst doing a Graphic Design Diploma. I then went on to study Textile Printing and Design and Commercial Needlecraft so I could pursue surface design.

I have worked as a Graphic Designer in Sydney, Melbourne, London and Perth. Throughout my years of exhibiting, I have won several awards. I've also exhibited my paintings in retail outlets and galleries in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Many of my works are inspired by journals kept during my life and extensive travels in Asia, Europe and Australia.
