Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Poppies have a wild, unruly nature to them which has always captivated me; their petals are like tissue paper, soft and ephemeral and unique in each flower.

This painting is an exploration of colour and texture, and hopefully a pretty reminder to always bloom wildy, like poppies do in spring.

An oil painting of orange and pink poppy flowers in a warm glass vase on canvasOil painting of a little hut on Achill Island in Ireland, green grass and blue ocean with cliffs below. This is a painting of the first-to-bloom nasturtium flowers I grew from seed. I love their unruliness and the green and orange colour combination. I also wanted to capture the flowers’ shadows and compliment their wild, free growth with plenty of texture. The iconic Bondi Icebergs depicted in a celebration of colour, texture and shape! I love the juxtaposition of this famous Sydney location, how the man-made pool and architecture is set among wild ocean and vast stretch of beach.

For this painting I was drawn to the structured black pool lines and how they contrast against the stark, sun-baked rock where swimmers sunbathe.
