Bronte Bliss is an emerging contemporary Australian artist and animator residing in Dharawal Country, Sydney. She creates oil and acrylic-based paintings ranging from still life to portraiture, drawings of animals and mythical creatures, digital works, and animation. Her artworks mainly focus on movement and expression, which she is strongly passionate about. She aims to push materiality and the boundaries of what constitutes artmaking. She believes that there’s more to art than just one material. She isn’t afraid to implement new mediums in every work and blends art and film to demonstrate that.
In 2022, Bronte graduated, completing a Bachelor of Fine Art at the National Art School. She had her Painting Major exhibited at the National Art School in the BFA Grad Show, 2022. The National Art School also awarded her the Derivan Acrylic Award for Mixed Media (2022).
Her work has been exhibited at Hazelhurst Arts Centre in Art Rules, 2019-20. She has collaborated with many filmmakers creating illustrations for Saving Medusa, 2021 short film and a poster for the short film Trying, 2021.
For Spotify, she created the digital cover art for independent American musician Naveynot’s single You’ve Changed in 2021, and a segment of her animation was used in British rapper AJ Tracey and singer Mabel’s music video, West Ten Home Video in 2020.
