Artwork Description

Midnight Pines captures the quiet descent of land beneath a fading sky, where forms blur and the forest becomes suggestion rather than shape. Burnt umber, red clay, blackened earth, and ochre fold into one another in muted layers, evoking a twilight landscape where vision falters and outlines dissolve. Sparse vertical strokes hint at the presence of stripped trees - bare, silent witnesses fading into shadow. The composition slopes gently but persistently, grounding the viewer in a moment where earth, night, and memory converge. A consideration of the unseen and the half-seen, Midnight Pines invites stillness and introspection.

Artist Bio

I was the child who drew on everything—and I truly mean everything. As a shy kid, I left my creations on hidden surfaces: the concealed side of a chest of drawers, inside the pages of novels, underneath tables, and on the quietest external walls of the house. Discovered years later, these secret pieces were my way of preserving a quiet, innate passion. Today, I assure you my canvases are much more conventional, but that same soul-driven urge to create remains unchanged.

Based in Queensland, I am a self-taught contemporary artist specialising in acrylics. I love the fast-drying, dynamic nature of the medium; it allows my artistic flow to continue without disruption as I uncover what is hidden within my subconscious.

My work primarily explores abstract landscapes and seascapes, defined by bright, playful colours, rich textures, and a distinct sense of motion. Having spent many years working within the rigid, regimented boundaries of the healthcare sector, art became my ultimate vehicle for free self-expression and joy.

I create to evoke emotion, weaving a unique story into every single piece. My ultimate goal is for my art to speak directly to the viewer, bringing whimsy, inspiration, and a bright spark of energy into your home—while (hopefully!) selling like hotcakes along the way. Thank you for exploring my world.
