Artwork Description

In the bottom right hand corner there is a figure standing and looking out to the scene in front, with their shadow casting forward - as if a symbol for foreshadowing the path they are currently on. As they look on, they witness destruction before finally bringing about peace. They observe their tent resting on poor foundations with a tidal wave imminent. Symbolic of poor choices made forcing us to cleanse, start fresh and rebuild. Another figure is on the bottom left, collapsed to their knees as they witness fires, yet they themselves are being covered in rain. Symbolising how we often have the solution to our problems, but rather than helping ourselves, we metaphorically tie our hands behinds our backs and just watch it unfold instead.
Yet if we look beyond and above this destruction, we can see the return to beauty with mountains, sunshine, running streams and waterfalls, a peaceful scene.
Ultimately, this piece is designed to highlight that sometimes we need to break down what we think we know or what we have built around us in order to find the true peace within.

But what story is it telling you?

Artist Bio

I was the child who drew on everything—and I truly mean everything. As a shy kid, I left my creations on hidden surfaces: the concealed side of a chest of drawers, inside the pages of novels, underneath tables, and on the quietest external walls of the house. Discovered years later, these secret pieces were my way of preserving a quiet, innate passion. Today, I assure you my canvases are much more conventional, but that same soul-driven urge to create remains unchanged.

Based in Queensland, I am a self-taught contemporary artist specialising in acrylics. I love the fast-drying, dynamic nature of the medium; it allows my artistic flow to continue without disruption as I uncover what is hidden within my subconscious.

My work primarily explores abstract landscapes and seascapes, defined by bright, playful colours, rich textures, and a distinct sense of motion. Having spent many years working within the rigid, regimented boundaries of the healthcare sector, art became my ultimate vehicle for free self-expression and joy.

I create to evoke emotion, weaving a unique story into every single piece. My ultimate goal is for my art to speak directly to the viewer, bringing whimsy, inspiration, and a bright spark of energy into your home—while (hopefully!) selling like hotcakes along the way. Thank you for exploring my world.
