Artwork Description

Dramatic in all black, and heavily-textured. The texture appears to crawl (or creep) across the canvas, which is where the name Creeping Expansion came from. It makes me think of how you can see ice crystals growing on a smooth surface when using time lapse photography.

This painting is all black, but different light will make it appear to change from black to grey. Sometimes the chunky texture will stand out as grey, sometimes the background will stand out as grey and sometimes it will all look black. It's all up to the light.

Whatever colour it looks, you won't be able to resist touching it to see how it feels.

Artist Bio

As a child I loved (and indulged in) all sorts of arts and crafts, but I never had any idea about painting.

I first picked up a paintbrush in January 2014, with no clue what to do with it. Since then, I've experimented with many different paint types and brands; ways of applying paint; resin; and different types of supports (painting surfaces).

Because I like variety and I like to keep things fresh, I don't have a particular style or favourite way of producing a painting. I work with how my mood takes me on the day and I'm often surprised at the result.

If you don't currently see anything in my portfolio that interests you, perhaps you might like to follow me. You never know when I might produce a piece that perfectly matches your taste or requirements.
