Melania

Part of the Vessel series.

The name Melania is of Greek and Latin origin, and translates to "dark" or "black". And it sounds refined and timeless.

Shiny vase catches the light due to the different angles of the material used.

Because of the artwork being black on black it was difficult to get a clear and detailed image of the whole piece. The main image in the listing appears to have a blue background, but it is in fact matte black, as can be seen in the other images.

As a child I loved (and indulged in) all sorts of arts and crafts, but I never had any idea about painting.

I first picked up a paintbrush in January 2014, with no clue what to do with it. Since then, I've experimented with many different paint types and brands; ways of applying paint; resin; and different types of supports (painting surfaces).

Because I like variety and I like to keep things fresh, I don't have a particular style or favourite way of producing a painting. I work with how my mood takes me on the day and I'm often surprised at the result.
