Artwork Description

This painting is a minimalist representation of fold mountains, done in silver and a really deep purple.

Fold mountains are formed when two tectonic plates collide at a convergent plate boundary, causing the crust to thicken. The less dense crust floats on the mantle rocks and material is forced upwards, causing hills, plateaus or mountains to be formed.

Artist Bio

As a child I loved (and indulged in) all sorts of arts and crafts, but I never had any idea about painting.

I first picked up a paintbrush in January 2014, with no clue what to do with it. Since then, I've experimented with many different paint types and brands; ways of applying paint; resin; and different types of supports (painting surfaces).

Because I like variety and I like to keep things fresh, I don't have a particular style or favourite way of producing a painting. I work with how my mood takes me on the day and I'm often surprised at the result.

If you don't currently see anything in my portfolio that interests you, perhaps you might like to follow me. You never know when I might produce a piece that perfectly matches your taste or requirements.
