Artwork Description

I'm a fan of colour. I generally choose the colours before I choose what to paint. These colours make me happy when I look at them.

The choice of title of this artwork is twofold.

Firstly, in this painting I see groups of families walking to a better life.

Secondly, it was painted during a time when I myself was making changes to my life and becoming someone else.

The dictionary definition may help to give you a better understanding of what I'm trying to say here.

trans·mi·grat·ing.
to move or pass from one place to another.
to migrate from one country to another in order to settle there
(of the soul) to be reborn after death in another body.

Artist Bio

As a child I loved (and indulged in) all sorts of arts and crafts, but I never had any idea about painting.

I first picked up a paintbrush in January 2014, with no clue what to do with it. Since then, I've experimented with many different paint types and brands; ways of applying paint; resin; and different types of supports (painting surfaces).

Because I like variety and I like to keep things fresh, I don't have a particular style or favourite way of producing a painting. I work with how my mood takes me on the day and I'm often surprised at the result.

If you don't currently see anything in my portfolio that interests you, perhaps you might like to follow me. You never know when I might produce a piece that perfectly matches your taste or requirements.
