Brooke was born in Port Macquarie, studied at the National Art school and Julian Ashton's in Sydney then lived man years on the Isle of Wight UK. She has always painted and worked in various roles including wedding photography. Now settled near Kempsey she has more time to dedicate to her art making. Brooke has always been fascinated by responding to the rhythms in nature and light on landscape. She is drawn to experimenting with mark making. Her experience playing jazz in her teens gives way to a desire to improvise and play with the colour and marks. Using acrylic or oil on canvas and exploring ceramics, all with a sense of play. Her art seeks to allude a memory rather than the detail of reality.
