“Wood Dragon” was seeded and started at Dragon Dreaming festival September 2023, in the magical Wee Jasper valley in NSW, Australia. A place where it feels like the dragons rest in the mountains by the ancient sea bed lakes. It turns out that it completed in Chinese year of the wood dragon, hence the name. 🐲
I painted this piece with the vision of the balance in life between praying, giving and receiving. Some seasons we are just in the mud praying for some relief, some we are giving beyond what we think we’re even capable of and some we’re just resting in bliss receiving gifts from the universe and often it seems to be happening all at once 😆
It was also inspired by the way the full moon transforms into the flower of life when I gaze at it unfocused. Try it next time the moons full.
