Artwork Description

For a number of years I worked in the control of bush fires for Queensland Forest Service and wanted to capture what it looked like and felt to me as a Aboriginal person in these prints. From the ashes, the hazey sunsets, to the trees that look like feathers on fire. Sometimes a fire can be scary, sometimes beautiful and there is a certain beauty in fires that we are all drawn to. I can sit and stare into a fire and meditate for hours ( fire is called gujam in Jandai language).
