Artwork Description

This ancient granite outcrop looks across to Mount Kosciuszko in the distance. Glazes were used extensively to capture the luminous alpine grasses. Check out video of some of the painting techniques that were used.

Artist Bio

Bruce Daniel is an artist living in the Blue Mountains, NSW. He paints contemporary landscapes, abstracts and still life using oils, acrylics and pastel.
His current focus is on the open spaces of the High Country of NSW.
"My paintings are not just pretty scenes. They are my attempt to express the human connection to the landscape in images. Like all art, all human endeavour, all life, there are layers upon layers, meanings within meanings, like water flowing underground, invisible to some, intensely visible to others. It is important for us to acknowledge and respect those layers of landscape that may be beyond our understanding."
