Artwork Description

Artist Staff Picked and Featured in Bluethumb Collections.

Fleet in Motion by Bruce Peebles embodies the synchrony and momentum of yachts racing in unison, their forms expressed through marks that pulse with movement and rhythm. The composition conveys both harmony and intensity, reflecting the collective spirit of the fleet as it cuts across the water. Created as part of a series, this work pairs perfectly with Full Sail Ahead, together forming a diptych that celebrates the dynamic energy of yachting. Available as an individual piece or as part of the two-panel set, Fleet in Motion carries its own strength while echoing powerfully in dialogue with its companion.

Artist Bio

Bruce Peebles – Contemporary Australian Artist

Bruce Peebles is a Brisbane-based contemporary artist whose practice is driven by colour, light, movement and a fascination with the Australian landscape. Largely self-taught, with formal fine art training, Bruce brings an experimental and intuitive approach to painting, creating expressive works that balance abstraction with recognisable forms and natural inspiration.

Working primarily with acrylics, oils, inks and layered glazes, he explores texture, rhythm and the interplay of light and colour. His paintings draw inspiration from the ever-changing colours of the Australian desert, the energy of the ocean and the movement of water, translating these experiences into vibrant, atmospheric compositions.

His signature collections, including Sun Glitter, Rhythmic Motion and Primordial Landscapes, explore different expressions of nature, from luminous reflections dancing across water to the expansive forms and colours of the Australian outback.

Four decades of experience in professional advertising photography, for which he was awarded Master Photographer by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, have given Bruce a distinctive appreciation of light, composition and visual impact. Today, painting is his primary creative focus, with works represented in corporate and private collections internationally.

Bruce's intention is to create paintings that evoke a feeling as much as a place, bringing colour, energy and a sense of freedom into the spaces they inhabit.
