Artwork Description

After visiting Canberra several years ago idea for this from Roman God Ceres In ancient Roman religion, Ceres was a goddess of agriculture, grain crops, fertility and motherly relationships. She was originally the central deity in Rome's so-called plebeian or Aventine Triad, then was paired with her daughter Proserpina in what Romans described as "the Greek rites of Ceres". Her seven-day April festival of Cerealia included the popular Ludi Ceriales. She was also honoured in the May lustratio of the fields at the Ambarvalia festival, at harvest-time, and during Roman marriages and funeral rites.

Artist Bio

Since a young age and into my adolescence and manhood I have drawn pictures. I have a left field lens through which I view the world and this is reflected in the pictures I create. in the past 5 years I have had a Roman theme and most recently spirituality and digital art (that for the first time involved the use of my right hand (as I am heavily left handed). I am originally from New Zealand and have also lived in the USA, most of my life has been based in Sydney to which I am married with one child. I also make music (Corvette938 on utube) and have a Roman Web site (Romanmaker.com). I made it into the final 20 or so from over 1000 artists globally in the annual art competition through visualartopen.com (with the piece "Men Of Justice"), and have made several private sales. So enjoy a good selection of art works that are now available for sale and feel free to make offers as I am eager to make sales due to the current Covid situation.
