Artwork Description

A man with a case
The idea of appropriation is a common theme in my artwork.
The idea of 'stealing' art has been pondered by many artist throughout history and has been out into practice by many establishments including galleries and corporations.

This is a visual representation of appropriation.

Artist Bio

Bryce is an Australian born Artist with Maltese descent, has always found himself at the intersection of seemingly opposing worlds. Born into a multicultural background, he grew up in a household where traditional Maltese values met the dynamic, evolving culture of modern Australia. This dual influence would go on to shape his unique perspective on both life and art.

After moving into adulthood, I took on careers in two vastly different fields: construction and clothing design. The hard, physical demands of the construction industry provided him with a grounded, practical approach to problem-solving and structure. Meanwhile, clothing design allowed him to explore the softer, more expressive side of his creativity—designing with textiles, colors, and forms. For years, he saw these two careers as contradictory, with construction representing the tangible, durable world, and clothing design delving into the ephemeral, fashion-driven realm of personal expression.

However, over time, Bryce began to recognize that these seemingly disparate pursuits weren't mutually exclusive, but complementary. It was this realization that led him to an artistic crossroads—one where he could merge both his practical understanding of materials and his flair for creativity into a unified form of expression.

My Artwork explores the the topics of Australian Pyrophytes and the idea of appropriation, Two seperate tops that create the head noise of imposters syndrome.
