This black Cockatoo is painted on glass, you can see the shadow that the image reflects on the wall within the frame.

Cockatoos are my favourite birds to paint as they often have a hint of pink, blue or orange within their feathers.

Bryce subverts well established classical techniques by painting in reverse when working with glass surfaces, applying fine details foremost and moving backward through a piece’s layers.
