Artwork Description

This is an abstract image dominated by cool, muted tones-grays, whites, pale blues and beige with a few darker navy and black accents cutting through the composition.
Brushwork is loose and layered giving it a dynamic almost fragmented feel as if the people in embrace are caught in mid motion or dissolving into memory.
The overall mood is airy yet restless, calm in its palette but energetic in its mark making.
This is expressive and impressionistic, inviting the viewer to interpret forms than clearly defining them.
Acrylic paint on high-quality double thick stretched canvas, utilising textured brush strokes and drip technique

Artist Bio

I was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to Australia many years ago, with a passion for painting from a very tender age. Always backed up by my mother, since my first art on a sheet of Asbestos, growing up among coconut trees and beaches added to my imagination.
My art is inspired by the vibrant colours of tropical flora and fauna, Australian Autumn, cultural traditions and Buddhist philosophy.
