Artwork Description

Influenced by cultural symbolism, tribal art, surf culture art from the 90’s, and inspired by patterns and harmonies found in nature, this work is guided by a desire to explore and represent the deeper connections and patterns that bind life, nature, and the cosmos together.

It seeks to develop a vocabulary that reflects the profound interconnectedness of all life. In a space of unconditional love and unity that transcends the distinctions between life and death, the self and the universe.

Artist Bio

Bold colours, sharp lines, and intricate geometric forms shape the work of Cale Hosking. Rooted in the South West of W.A, his early years spent surfing and playing in the natural beauty of Gnaala Karla Booja country continue to influence the spirit of his art.

Through sacred geometry–inspired and symmetry-driven abstraction, his paintings explore the unseen structures that shape existence and the unity that underlies all life. Drawing from cultural symbolism, the bold aesthetics of 90s surf culture, and patterns found in nature, Cale’s work merges craftsmanship with intuition to create imagery that feels timeless and otherworldly.

With a background in traditional sign writing, Cale perfected the craft of hand-painted lettering, murals, and expansive compositions, skills that now form the foundation of his art practice. His visual vocabulary is both striking and playful, with intentional linework and rhythmic colour arrangements that feel orderly yet alive.

At the heart of his practice is a search for interconnectedness, a space beyond ordinary perception where the boundaries between self and universe soften into unity. His paintings invite viewers into contemplation, offering a glimpse into the deeper patterns that bind us together.
