Artwork Description

This painting was inspired by my time at the beach. But I always like to hide things in plain sight, and in this case, when the light in the room changes, a hidden translucent flower emerges.

Artist Bio

Callous spent her childhood in Sydney, her high school years in Perth, and has since lived in the US, East Timor, and Malaysia. She's currently blissfully residing on the Gold Coast.

She spent time in the military, but since living on the GC, has learned to chill right out. She's always been creative, and when not painting or restoring furniture, she writes and moonlights as a photographer.

Her style is influenced by the Chinese Brush Painting techniques she studied in Penang, and is just recently opening up to the many different techniques and styles of abstract painting, using acrylics.

When she's writing, she's thinking about her next painting, when she's painting she's thinking about her writing, and when she's not doing either of those things, she's at the beach...
