Artist Bio

Up until 2019 I was working in the engineering industry and wanted to find a hobby that would help take my mind off the stress I was under at work. I've always liked art but was convinced I had no real skill in art or illustration.
But in December of 2019 I decided I would teach myself to draw.
Starting with graphite pencils I practiced everyday, I then discovered ink and suddenly I had found my favorite medium and style of art- stippling and cross hatching. The style is extremely time consuming and requires a lot of patience and very little margin for error once the ink is on the paper, I like this challenge because if you are 50 hours into a piece and you make a mistake or a “happy accident” you are forced to fix it or lose 50 hours worth of work. I enjoy this process because you can load as much detail as possible into a work and when someone first sees the artwork they see a nice image but when they look closely they can see how much detail is hidden in the textures.

After a major flare up of my disease in 2020 I was forced to switch from my previous career in engineering and mining to art in order to better take care of my body.
Thanks for checking out my work! This page does not sell me entire collection, check out my website for exclusive originals that are only sold there.
