Artwork Description

Undertow Without Shore - explores the feeling of being drawn into a landscape that has no fixed boundary. Waves of deep blue, charcoal, white and ochre sweep across the canvas, creating a sense of movement, turbulence and continual transformation.
The work sits between abstraction and the natural world. Its flowing forms suggest water, currents , weather and shifting terrain , while the layed marks evoke the unpredictable energy of nature.
There is no defined horizon or place to arrive at - only movement . The title Undertow Without Shore reflects this sense of being carried by forces that cannot be completely controlled or contained,
An expressive contemporary abstract work inviting the viewer to find their own landscape within the movement.
