Politics has always lived in a space between angels and demons. It’s the meeting point of good intentions and selfish ambition. A world where kindness kisses corruption, and both pretend it’s love.
My understanding has always been that politics is built on hope. It promises change, fairness, and a better tomorrow. The angels in this story represent that. They represent the belief that we can lift people up, protect the weak, and make decisions that bring light instead of darkness.
Those are the moments that remind us why politics exists in the first place. To serve, to heal, to move forward together.
But standing between those angels is the other truth.
It's the part we often don’t want to see.
Politics can twist even the purest hearts.
Power demands compromise, and those compromises slowly shape the people who make them.
The devil isn’t evil for the sake of evil.
He/she is the result of decisions made under pressure, promises broken, and truths bent to win another vote or keep another seat.
Am I wrong in assuming this?
