Imagine getting up, not reaching for your phone, not having to find your keys…
…not having to scurry for your wallet.
Imagine not having to feel the sensation of needing to react to a social media post.
Imagine not having to consider all those questions that rummage your head everyday about the future…
…or how well you did or didn’t do in the past.
Wash your face, your hands, your body - we do it every day without much consideration. We cleanse the body…
…but hardly ever cleanse the mind.
Imagine if we cleansed the mind with as much regularity as we cleanse the body?
That’s a tidy question just back there…I’ll wait here while you read it again.
Anger, jealousy, guilt, regret – a lot of folk hardly ever cleanse that from their head.
Most of what we involuntarily let roam inside our grey meat is useless back and forth disagreements with our ego.
This painting represents my inspiration with the idea of not overreacting to things that are not worth overreacting to.
We exhaust ourselves with a whole bunch of nothings too often.
Notice how in this painting no one has a mobile phone?
No one is texting or making calls.
Each person is sitting in quite contemplation.
No judgement.
No over-reacting.
No incessant need to respond to social media where a lot of the “fake happiness” resides.
These people are present and aware of who they are with.
They are present with the people who are right at their side.
Being "real" social.
Cleansing the mind.
