Artwork Description

I see this painting as a kind of abstract simulation of life.

We’re constantly moving through moments where we have to make decisions.

Some are big. Some are insignificant. Some change everything.

And the strange thing is, we rarely know which is which when we make them.

Every figure in this painting is caught somewhere between movement and uncertainty. Reaching, bending, separating, carrying something, trying to find somewhere to stand.

That’s life, really.

We make a decision, live with it, adjust to the consequences, and then make another decision.

And sometimes the hardest part isn’t making the decision itself.

It’s accepting that we may never know whether it was the right one.

Then there’s everything happening around us.

The responsibilities we carry.
The changes we don’t ask for.
The people we become separated from.
The opinions we absorb from politics, media, social platforms and everyone telling us what we should think.

Over the last few years, we’ve experienced things that have pushed people into very different corners.

And I think we all have a tendency to look for a comfortable place where our decisions feel justified.

Somewhere we can say, ‘This is what I believe. This is why I made this choice. I must be right.’

But maybe none of us really knows.

Maybe we’re all just trying to navigate the same complicated world from completely different positions.

So for me, these figures aren’t really separate people.

They’re different versions of all of us.

Moving through the chaos.

Making choices.

Carrying responsibilities.

Changing direction.

Trying to find somewhere to stand.

And hoping, somewhere along the way, that we’ve made the right decisions.

Artist Bio

Thanks for dropping by...

I have been an artist for most of my life. It was only up until 20 years ago that somebody mentioned that I should consider selling my work. The rest is history.

I am a contemporary artist; which is a fancy way of saying versatile and quite popular (wink) with an international client base.

I strongly encourage you to have a look through my portfolio of work on this site. Also, please subscribe to my emailing list so you can be kept up to date with new work, exhibits, videos and all my crazy antics as an artist.

I also do private consultations, therefore I am more than happy to visit your home or office. It is not uncommon for me to receive requests to produce a series of pieces to colour a home or office space. Simply contact me (via links above) to arrange a time to suit.

I really appreciate you visiting my site, and if you have any questions or requests please feel free to contact me via the links in the navigation bar above.
