Oil on linen, ready to hang.
Signed on the back.
This painting was created around the same time I was painting my entry piece for the 2019 Achibald Prize of Australian Actress and childhood friend Jolene Anderson. I had a few different portraits of her on the go at the same time. This painting was one of them and came about from one of the reference photo I had taken. Her eyes and the bone structure of her cheek bone in the image inspired the painting which has a haunting quality and something I have always be drawn to and like to depict. The materials I used were oils paints, charcoal on linen which is where I feel most comfortable and true to my practice.
